China holds strategic meeting on artificial intelligence, trade, and green transition
Beijing, June 29 (Hibya) – Chinese Premier Li Qiang chaired a State Council executive meeting that reviewed reports on artificial intelligence development. The meeting also assessed the current foreign trade situation and China's efforts to become a global trading powerhouse.

The meeting approved the carbon peak action plan under the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030) as well as a national health action plan.
Regarding artificial intelligence, participants stressed the need to closely monitor technological developments, strengthen supporting policies and governance systems, and achieve breakthroughs in innovation. They also called for the development of large-scale intelligent computing infrastructure, greater data capacity, and stronger support for fundamental research.
The meeting further emphasized the importance of ensuring the safe use of artificial intelligence technologies and strengthening international cooperation in the field.
On foreign trade, participants agreed to maintain a balanced approach to exports and imports, expand credit and insurance support, and encourage the import of high-quality products.
The meeting also highlighted the strategic role of reducing carbon emissions in economic transformation and stressed the need to make healthcare services more coordinated and efficient under the Healthy China Initiative.
