Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney made a statement regarding the plane crash in New York that has plunged the aviation community into mourning.

Highlighting the severity of the accident, Carney said: "The accident that occurred last night in New York involving an Air Canada Express aircraft, in which the pilot and co-pilot lost their lives and dozens were injured, is extremely tragic."

Referring to the diplomatic and technical process carried out by the Canadian government following the incident, Carney stated: "Canadian authorities are working in close cooperation with their U.S. counterparts on the ground while the investigation continues."

Prime Minister Carney concluded his message with the following words:

"My thoughts are with the victims, their families, and everyone affected."
