According to the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry, Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova called for strengthening economic diplomacy, enhancing institutional coordination, and further reinforcing Bulgaria's international standing.

Petrova addressed heads of diplomatic missions during the closing session of the conference held in Sofia on July 20-21.

She stressed the importance of strong and uninterrupted coordination between the Foreign Ministry, Bulgaria's missions abroad, and other state institutions, noting that timely information sharing is critical to the effectiveness of the Bulgarian diplomatic service.

Petrova said that Bulgaria's political stability enables long-term planning, greater predictability, and stronger protection of national interests, emphasizing that economic diplomacy is one of the key tools for developing new partnerships, attracting investment, and expanding international cooperation.

She stated that the rule of law, transparency, and strong institutions form the foundation of a sustainable investment environment and that Bulgaria's geographical location should be turned into a strategic advantage.

Petrova added that Bulgaria lies at the crossroads of transport, energy, and trade corridors and can serve as an important bridge between the European Union, regional countries, Central Asia, and the Gulf region.

Concluding her speech, Petrova urged diplomats: "Do not set limits on your goals," calling on Bulgaria's missions abroad to act more proactively, develop new initiatives, and lead efforts to further increase the country's international visibility.
