Bukele: We have launched an operation to rescue 4 of our citizens kidnapped in Haiti
San Salvador, October 21 (Hibya) - El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele announced that his country had launched a military operation to rescue four of its citizens kidnapped in Haiti.
El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele announced that a military operation had been launched to rescue four Salvadoran citizens being held hostage in Haiti.
Bukele stated that the kidnapped individuals were aviation technicians working in Haiti as part of an international mission. He explained that the team consisted solely of pilots and technical personnel, whose primary responsibilities were carrying out medical evacuations and saving lives.
Bukele said the technicians were abducted on their way back after purchasing food at a local store, emphasizing that the operation aimed to bring all four citizens safely back to their country.
Addressing gang leaders, Bukele warned that more extensive measures would be taken if the hostages were not released alive and unharmed.
