Asia-Pacific stock market indices declined
Istanbul, September 2 (Hibya) - In Asia-Pacific markets, the KOSPI fell 3.43 percent, while the Nikkei 225 declined 2.73 percent.
Asia-Pacific equity markets were generally dominated by selling pressure during the trading day, with losses particularly evident in South Korean and Japanese markets.
The sharpest decline of the day was seen in South Korea. The KOSPI Index lost 3.43 percent, falling to 6,601.07 points. In Japan, the Nikkei 225 Index also fell by 1,807.34 points, or 2.73 percent, to trade at 64,408.00 points. In China, the FTSE China 50 Index declined 1.30 percent to 15,934.28 points, while Australia's S&P/ASX 200 Index fell 0.99 percent to 8,977.00 points.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index declined 0.85 percent to 25,114.00 points, India's Nifty 50 Index fell 0.80 percent to 23,864.50 points, and Thailand's SET Index dropped 0.64 percent to 1,578.47 points. Indonesia's IDX Composite settled at 6,581.45 points after falling 0.28 percent, while Sri Lanka's CSE All-Share Index ended the day unchanged.
Despite the broadly negative performance across the region, Malaysia's stock market remained slightly positive, with the KLCI Index rising 0.06 percent to 1,701.61 points.
