Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi stated that the second round of indirect negotiations with the United States in Geneva has been completed and announced that the parties have reached a general understanding on the fundamental principles of a possible agreement.

Following the indirect talks held with the U.S. delegation at the Embassy of Oman in Geneva, Araghchi said that constructive contacts were conducted at the technical level with Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and that Grossi also met with the U.S. delegation.

Noting that a more serious and constructive atmosphere had emerged compared to the previous round, Araghchi said, “Various ideas were put forward and evaluated in detail. As a result, we were able to reach a general understanding on a number of guiding principles that will form the basis for advancing the process and moving to drafting a possible agreement text.”

Emphasizing that this does not mean a swift agreement, Araghchi stated that drafting the text is a technical and complex process, and that compared to the previous meeting, significant progress has been achieved and the process has gained a clearer framework.

Araghchi noted that no official timetable has yet been set, stating, “It was agreed that the parties will work on draft texts regarding a possible agreement, share them mutually, and then set a date for the third round.”

He underlined that this does not yet constitute a roadmap, but that there is now a clearer picture regarding the next steps, adding, “Of course, both sides have positions that need to be worked on; however, at least we now have guiding principles and a clearer basis for the continuation of the process.”
