Araghchi: President Trump’s message today is reckless and dangerous
Tehran, January 2 (Hibya) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyid Abbas Araghchi reacted to U.S. President Donald Trump’s remarks regarding the protests in the country.
Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi stated that recently some groups affected by temporary fluctuations in the exchange rate have held peaceful protests, which he said is a legitimate right.
Araghchi also noted that during these protests there were isolated violent incidents, such as an attack on a police station and the throwing of Molotov cocktails at the police.
Recalling that U.S. President Donald Trump deployed the National Guard within the country, Araghchi said: “Given that he has deployed the National Guard within the borders of the United States, he should know better than anyone that criminal attacks against public property cannot be tolerated. Therefore, President Trump’s message today is reckless and dangerous.”
Emphasizing that the Iranian people, as in the past, will reject any interference in their internal affairs, Araghchi added: “Likewise, our powerful armed forces are on alert and know exactly where to aim in the event of any violation of Iran’s sovereignty.”
