Anand: The Iranian people deserve freedom and respect for their fundamental rights
Munich, February 14 (Hibya) – Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand met with Iranian activist Nazanin Boniadi at the Munich Security Conference.
Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand spoke about human rights violations in Iran and the regime’s stance within the framework of the Munich Security Conference (MSC 2026).
Stating that concrete steps had been taken against the Iranian regime’s acts of violence and international pressure, Anand said, “The Iranian people deserve freedom, accountability, and respect for their fundamental rights. Today, I also announced additional sanctions against individuals linked to the Iranian regime’s violence and international pressure.”
Emphasizing Canada’s determination on this issue, Minister Anand added, “Canada will continue to take concrete steps to support the Iranian people.”
