Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the head of Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, outlined the details of a special mission prepared to free civilians held hostage in Belarus.

Noting that thanks to the active role of the United States (US) and cooperation among intelligence agencies, around one hundred people, including five Ukrainians, are currently regaining their freedom, Zelensky added:

“I have instructed Defense Intelligence and all units represented in our Coordination Headquarters to make maximum efforts toward Russia to secure the release of Ukrainian prisoners of war before the New Year. We remember all our people held in Russian captivity.”
