Zakharova: The use of our assets is unlawful
Moscow, December 15 (Hibya) – Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the freezing, nationalization or use of Russia’s sovereign assets without the owner’s consent, including under labels such as “compensation loan,” is contrary to international law.
Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Zakharova said: “It is clear that Russia’s sovereign assets, regardless of whether they are frozen, nationalized or used under labels such as ‘compensation loan,’ without the owner’s consent, are contrary to international law.”
She added that irrespective of any so-called legal justifications put forward by the European Union, this practice constitutes a violation of property rights and represents a legally unacceptable act.
