Wong: Australia stands with the brave Iranian people
Canberra, January 13 (Hibya) – Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong said they condemn the repression carried out by the Iranian regime against its own people.
Australian Foreign Minister Senator Penny Wong issued a statement regarding the ongoing social unrest in Iran and the regime’s methods of intervention.
Emphasizing Australia’s support for democratic demands, Wong said: “Australia stands with the brave Iranian people who are fighting against an oppressive regime. We strongly condemn the Iranian regime’s brutal repression of its own people.”
Stating that violence on the ground must come to an end, Minister Wong concluded her statement by saying: “The killing of protesters, the use of force, and arbitrary detentions must stop.”
