The S&P 500 fell 0.75 percent to 7,706.03 points, while the Dow Jones declined 0.68 percent to 51,511.59 points.
In other markets across the Americas, the S&P/TSX fell 1.61 percent, the Bovespa declined 0.86 percent and the S&P/BMV IPC dropped 0.28 percent, while the COLCAP rose 0.92 percent and the S&P Lima General gained 0.71 percent.
