UAE Ministry of Defense: 6 ballistic missiles and 21 UAVs launched from Iran destroyed
Abu Dhabi, March 16 (Hibya) - The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Defense announced that several missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles launched from Iran on March 16, 2026 were neutralized, with 7 people killed and 145 injured in the attacks.
The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defense shared updated data regarding the extensive attacks targeting the country’s airspace.
In a statement highlighting the success of the air defense systems, the ministry said, “On March 16, 2026, the United Arab Emirates’ air defense systems neutralized 6 ballistic missiles and 21 unmanned aerial vehicles launched from Iran. Since the beginning of the aggression, our systems have taken measures against a total of 304 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,627 UAVs.”
Officials also provided details on the human toll of the attacks, stating, “As a result of these attacks, two members of our armed forces were martyred while carrying out their national duty, and five individuals of Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi, and Palestinian nationality also lost their lives.”
The ministry reported that a total of 145 people were injured in the attacks, including citizens of Türkiye, Sweden, India, and Azerbaijan.
It was noted that the condition of the injured ranges from mild to severe and that necessary medical treatment is ongoing.
