The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement regarding the meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani and former Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblatt in the Lebanese capital, Beirut.

According to the ministry's statement, the meeting emphasized the importance of preserving Syria's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. The two sides also discussed opportunities to develop bilateral relations between Syria and Lebanon and reviewed steps that would serve their shared interests and strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
