BURGAS / RUEN – Türker Akanlar, 31.05.2026. The Municipality of Ruen in Burgas, Bulgaria, where a large Turkish population resides, brought together thousands of citizens this year through its Spring Festival. The traditional event offered unforgettable moments to local residents through sports competitions, cultural performances, and social activities.

Oil wrestling and freestyle wrestling tournaments organized as part of the festival attracted significant interest, while sports activities for different age groups, children's play areas, and various performances continued throughout the day. With strong participation from local residents, the event took place in a true carnival atmosphere.

Despite occasional rainfall, no disruptions occurred during the events. Visitors remained at the venue despite the rain, and the program continued as planned. Participants had the opportunity to follow traditional sports and enjoy quality time with their families.

The festival, which also welcomed visitors from different cities across Bulgaria, contributed to strengthening social solidarity and cultural unity in the region. Considered an important event for preserving Turkish culture and passing it on to future generations, it was organized with the support of local authorities and civil society organizations.

Officials from the Municipality of Ruen stated that the Spring Festival is held each year with broader participation and emphasized that they will continue organizing events that preserve the region's cultural values and strengthen social unity.

The colorful festival concluded with an award ceremony and concert programs following a full day of activities. Residents of the region expressed their wish for the event to continue in the coming years.
