In his message marking South Sudan's Independence Day, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar referred to the historical ties between the two countries and their goals for future cooperation.

Congratulating South Sudan on its Independence Day, Saar said: "We warmly congratulate the people and government of South Sudan on the occasion of the 15th Independence Day."

Emphasizing the importance of the ties between the two countries, Saar concluded: "Israel values the genuine friendship between our two nations, which began long before independence. We look forward to continuing our cooperation and building a future of peace, opportunity, and shared prosperity for our peoples."
