Russian negotiator Dmitriev travels to Miami for Ukraine talks
Moscow, December 20 (Hibya) – Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and special envoy of President Vladimir Putin, has traveled to Miami to hold talks aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
Dmitriev wrote on social media: “I’m on my way to Miami. While war hawks are doing their best to undermine the U.S. peace plan for Ukraine, I remembered this video from my previous trip — light breaking through storm clouds.”
Dmitriev is expected to meet with special envoy Steve Witkoff and the U.S. president’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump announced his intention to travel to Florida amid the anticipated talks.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said it is necessary to review the results of contacts between the United States, Ukraine and Europe before organizing a new round of negotiations, arguing that agreements reached with European participation do not bode well for Russia.
