Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is carrying out a series of visits as part of his program in Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Yad Vashem in Jerusalem.

At the beginning of the visit, the two leaders toured the Hall of Names, during which Prime Minister Netanyahu showed Prime Minister Modi the names of his wife Sara’s relatives who perished in the Holocaust.

Following the tour, a memorial ceremony was held, and the Indian Prime Minister laid a wreath and placed a memorial stone in remembrance of the victims of the Holocaust.

Modi later met with President Isaac Herzog at the President’s Residence.

Before their meeting, President Herzog and Prime Minister Modi planted an oak tree together in the garden of the President’s Residence to symbolize the friendship between the two countries, growth, and the building of a shared future. President Herzog and Prime Minister Modi then held a comprehensive bilateral meeting at the President’s Residence.

Herzog thanked Prime Minister Modi for his historic second visit to Israel as Prime Minister of India. He also expressed his deep appreciation for Prime Minister Modi’s long-standing and unwavering support for the State of Israel and for the deep friendship of the Indian people toward the people of Israel. Modi, in turn, invited President Herzog to visit India.

During their talks, the two leaders discussed the critical importance of the strategic partnership between Israel and India across a wide range of areas, including innovation, technology, academia, trade, and security. Opportunities to expand regional partnerships and alliances, including the India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) initiative, for the benefit of both peoples were also addressed.

Meanwhile, Narendra Modi held an expanded meeting in Jerusalem with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, conducted a joint press conference, and signed a series of economic, security, and diplomatic agreements.
