Plenkovic: Energy security is no longer an abstract concept, but a strategic necessity
Paris, March 10 (Hibya) - Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic attended the Nuclear Energy Summit hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron.

Plenkovic emphasized that in today’s geopolitical environment, energy security has become a strategic necessity.
Stating that Croatia contributes to the renewed strengthening of nuclear energy in Europe, Plenkovic said: "Croatia is a co-owner of the Krsko Nuclear Power Plant. The electricity produced at this plant accounts for approximately 20 percent of the country’s total electricity production and 16 percent of its electricity consumption."
Plenkovic also noted that the Croatian government has introduced a new draft law that foresees the development of nuclear energy for civilian purposes, adding: "Our aim is to ensure safe and sustainable electricity production in accordance with European standards."
