Pakistan strongly condemned all attempts to undermine Somalia’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity and, in this context, rejected the claim that Israel has recognized the independence of the so-called Somaliland region of the Federal Republic of Somalia.

It was noted that such illegal and provocative actions constitute a clear violation of international law and threaten not only Somalia’s peace and stability but that of the entire region. It was emphasized that the international community should step in to reject such actions and to prevent and deter Israel from undermining ongoing efforts for peace and stability in the wider region.

Pakistan also reiterated its support for the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia, as well as for all efforts aimed at achieving lasting peace and stability in the country.
