Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar met with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty in New York on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

According to a statement posted on the social media account of Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting addressed the longstanding relations between Pakistan and Egypt.

The two ministers reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields, particularly trade and investment, economic cooperation, education, cultural exchanges and people-to-people contacts.

The meeting also reviewed regional and international developments, particularly the current situation in the Middle East and Iran. Both sides emphasized the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in addressing regional issues.

Dar said that the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding should be fully implemented by all parties. The sides also reaffirmed the importance of continuing consultations within the framework of the Regional Quartet (R4) and agreed to further enhance coordination in areas of mutual interest.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of international cooperation and effective multilateralism in addressing shared global challenges.
