Middle Eastern stock markets decline
Istanbul, September 24 (Hibya) – Middle Eastern stock markets were generally under selling pressure in their latest closes, with the Egyptian market recording the region’s steepest decline at 1.29 percent.
Most indices in Middle Eastern markets declined in recent trading sessions. In Egypt, the EGX 30 index fell 1.29 percent to 54,224.93 points, becoming the region’s worst-performing major index. In Kuwait, the Premier Market PR index declined 0.48 percent to 9,138.91 points, while Oman’s MSM 30 index fell 0.40 percent to 4,393.15 points.
In Bahrain, the Bahrain All Share index fell 0.31 percent to 1,951.36 points, while Israel’s TA 35 index closed down 0.26 percent at 4,296.38 points. In Jordan, the Amman SE General index declined 0.20 percent to 4,095.00 points, while Saudi Arabia’s Tadawul All Share index edged down 0.01 percent to 10,680.61 points, showing a broadly flat-to-negative performance.
Among the indices that diverged positively in the region, Qatar’s QE General index rose 0.33 percent to 9,545.54 points, while Dubai’s DFM General index gained 0.18 percent to 6,008.03 points. In Palestine, the Al-Quds index ended the day up 0.05 percent at 703.78 points.
