Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni received Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda at Chigi Palace in Rome.

Meloni said the meeting confirmed the strength of relations between the two countries and demonstrated their willingness to further strengthen cooperation in strategic areas such as defense and energy.

The meeting addressed strengthening competitiveness and the industrial base, reducing energy costs for households and businesses, and creating a new Multiannual Financial Framework capable of addressing shared priorities. Meloni also said they discussed the management of migration flows, strengthening Europe’s external policy dimension, international developments, and issues of peace and stability.
