French President Macron said that hosting Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and Greenland Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen was an opportunity for France to once again express its solidarity with Denmark and Greenland, underline its commitment to their sovereignty and territorial integrity, and reaffirm its full support for the people of Greenland.

Stating that France stands by Denmark and Greenland, Macron said, “As I also pledged during my visit to Greenland in June, our consulate general in Nuuk will open in the coming weeks.”

Macron added that they would strengthen all dimensions of their partnerships in the Arctic, including security, economic cooperation, strategic raw materials, energy, education, science, and culture.
