Leyen welcomes cooperation between the EU and CPTPP
Johannesburg, November 22 (Hibya) - European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen welcomed closer cooperation in trade and investment between the EU and the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
European Commission President Leyen said she welcomes closer cooperation in trade and investment between the EU and CPTPP.
She emphasized that they share a strong commitment to free, fair, and rules-based trade and that together they are stronger, adding: "Together, we represent over 1 billion people. By deepening our cooperation, we can strengthen and reform the global trading system."
Leyen also made the following statement regarding her meeting with Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong:
"Our excellent meeting with Lawrence Wong confirmed that EU-Singapore relations are strong and enduring. We will deepen our partnership further: working together to secure supply chains, increase trade volumes, and keep our economies strong. Thank you for your efforts to strengthen ties between the EU, CPTPP, and ASEAN."
