UN Secretary-General António Guterres said that amid increasing conflicts worldwide, achieving sustainable peace required respect for international law, addressing the root causes of conflicts and actively pursuing political solutions.

Guterres stated, “Amid multiplying conflicts, the only path to sustainable peace is through international law, addressing root causes and actively pursuing political solutions.”

Highlighting the importance of political will, Guterres called for action to silence the guns and stop the killing. “Let us demonstrate our political will to silence the guns, stop the killing and build a world where peace prevails for everyone,” Guterres said.
