Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud in New York on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

According to a statement by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting reaffirmed the longstanding and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The two ministers welcomed the signing of the visa exemption agreement for holders of diplomatic and official/special passports.

Dar expressed Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with Saudi Arabia and condemned the recent attacks targeting Saudi Arabia.

Matters related to the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement were also discussed during the meeting. The two sides reiterated their commitment to strengthening cooperation under the agreement and advancing regional peace, stability and security.

The ministers also emphasized the importance of maintaining high-level contacts and continuing close coordination on bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
