Dar: First direct flight from Dhaka to Karachi completed
Islamabad, Jan. 30 (Hibya) – Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar announced that the first direct flight departing from Dhaka landed in Karachi late last night.
Dar said the first direct flight from Dhaka landed in Karachi late last night, thereby restoring air connectivity between Pakistan and Bangladesh after a 14-year hiatus.
He noted that advancing this long-awaited goal was one of the main focal points of the engagements during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to Bangladesh in August 2025, in line with his directives to strengthen regional cooperation and connectivity, adding: “The resumption of direct flights will significantly enhance people-to-people interactions, including contacts in youth, academic, cultural, and commercial fields, as well as family ties.”
