Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

In his resignation statement, Radev said, “The struggle for the future of our homeland lies ahead, and I believe that we will face this struggle together with all of you — with the worthy, the inspired, and the unwavering. We are ready. We can and we will achieve our goal!”

Recently, there has been speculation that Radev may form his own political party and run for parliament in the upcoming elections.

Due to severe political instability in recent years, Radev has repeatedly been forced to appoint caretaker governments. The most recent instance occurred in December, following the resignation of Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov after mass anti-corruption protests.

Radev stated, “We are already members of Schengen and the euro area. The questions are these: why was stability and cohesion not achieved after these goals were realized? Why did Bulgarians stop voting, why do they not trust the justice system and the media, why did citizens fill the squares twice, and why in European Bulgaria does a high percentage live in poverty, with even more people living in insecurity?”

Radev’s presidential term was due to end this year, and presidential elections are scheduled for the autumn. Bulgarian Vice President Ilijana Yotova will serve as acting president until then.
