Baqaei: Our Iranian identity is made up of elements embedded in our souls
Tehran, October 7 (Hibya) - Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baqaei marked the birthday of Iranian poet Sohrab Sepehri, saying that homeland, identity, faith and culture are elements deeply embedded in the souls of Iranians.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baqaei said in a message issued on the occasion of Sohrab Sepehri's birthday that elements such as homeland, identity, faith and culture do not need to be constantly expressed.
Baqaei said these elements are embedded in the souls of Iranians like the scent of rain-soaked soil, an old cypress tree and a poem that elevates the human spirit.
In his message, Baqaei quoted from Sepehri's poem beginning with the line, "I am a Muslim, my qibla is a red flower," and said, "We celebrate the birthday of Kashan's passionate poet."
