Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.

Zelensky said that the meeting included a detailed discussion of defense cooperation and emphasized that Ukraine highly appreciates Spain’s support in the face of ongoing Russian attacks.

He noted that Spain consistently implements the bilateral security agreement, providing Ukraine with reliable annual support of 1 billion euros.

Zelensky also addressed the damage caused to the energy sector by Russian attacks, stating that Spain is ready to assist in this area. He thanked Spain for the 200-million-euro economic package, which includes energy assistance.

Zelensky added that Spain’s new defense assistance package includes air defense missiles and that this 300-million-euro package will have a real and tangible impact on Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
