Ukraine and France sign agreement on Rafale fighter jets
Kyiv, 17 November (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that he and French President Emmanuel Macron have signed a Declaration of Intent on Cooperation for the Supply of Defense Equipment to Ukraine.
Zelensky stated that today marks a truly historic and significant moment for both Ukraine and France.
He said that he and President Macron signed the Declaration of Intent on defense equipment cooperation and added:
“This document enables Ukraine to acquire military equipment from France’s defense industry and technological infrastructure. This includes 100 Rafale F4 aircraft for Ukraine’s combat aviation by 2035, SAMP/T air defense systems, air defense radars, air-to-air missiles, and air-delivered bombs.”
Zelensky also noted that joint projects between the defense sectors of the two countries will begin this year, saying: “Counter-drone systems will be jointly produced, and critical technologies and components that can be integrated into Ukrainian drones will be developed.”
He expressed his gratitude to France, President Emmanuel Macron, and the French people.
