Putin: The CSTO reliably guarantees security and stability
Moscow, Nov. 27 (Hibya) – Russian President Vladimir Putin stated on November 27 that the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) reliably ensures security and stability in the Eurasian region.
In his speech at the expanded meeting of the Collective Security Council, Putin said: “The CSTO reliably guarantees security and stability in the Eurasian region and protects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the member states of our union.”
Putin added that in the context of geopolitical tensions, the task of advancing collective interests is becoming increasingly important. He emphasized that Russia will continue to work closely with its allies to strengthen the CSTO’s defense potential. He also described the CSTO as a respected regional structure.
The same day, Putin arrived at the Yntymak Ordo residence in Bishkek to attend the CSTO summit. It was reported that he met with Kyrgyzstan’s President Sadyr Japarov.
The Collective Security Treaty Organization was established by an agreement signed on May 15, 1992, in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Russia are permanent members.
