Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni stated that, within the framework of the European Council meeting, together with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof, they hosted a new informal meeting attended by 15 European Union (EU) member states interested in innovative solutions on migration.

It was noted that, in addition to Italy, Denmark, the Netherlands and the European Commission, leaders from Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, Germany, Greece, Poland, Czechia, Latvia, Malta, Hungary and Sweden also participated in the meeting.

It was reported that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen informed the meeting about ongoing efforts, particularly the progress made in negotiations regarding return arrangements and the European list of safe countries of origin.

Meloni reiterated Italy’s commitment to innovative solutions on migration and welcomed the new letter signed by the foreign and interior ministers of 19 EU member states. She also provided information on the capacity of international conventions to address the challenges posed by irregular migration and on new initiatives planned in this field.

At the end of the meeting, it was noted that agreement was reached on launching joint initiatives to more effectively promote the European approach to the orderly management of migration flows, both within the framework of the European Union and the European Council, as well as on other international platforms, particularly the United Nations.
