Kristersson stated that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, and Germany's new Chancellor Friedrich Merz met with President Zelensky in Kyiv, and that 22 people attended the meeting via video link.

He noted that there is now momentum for at least a 30-day ceasefire, saying: “Ukraine wants it, Europe wants it, the US wants it, NATO wants it.”

Kristersson added that an unconditional ceasefire could go into effect starting Monday morning, stating: “The ball is now in Russia’s court. If Russia says yes, the first step toward peace can be taken. If Russia continues to obstruct and delay, strong joint measures from both Europe and the US are necessary.”
