Harris: It is vital for India and Pakistan to engage in dialogue
Dublin, May 10 (Hibya) – Ireland's Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade, Defence, and Deputy Prime Minister Simon Harris stated that it is of vital importance for India and Pakistan to de-escalate the dangerous situation and engage in dialogue on relevant issues.
Minister Harris updated Ireland’s travel advice for Pakistan.
He noted that the embassies in Islamabad and Delhi are continuing to closely monitor developments, and urged Irish citizens planning to travel to the region to keep following regularly updated guidance.
“Regarding the current tensions between India and Pakistan, I largely share the concerns of the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas, as well as those of my EU Member State colleagues. It is vital that both parties de-escalate this dangerous situation and engage in dialogue on the relevant issues.”
