Kremlin: Trump’s national security strategy aligns with Russia’s vision
Moscow, December 8 (Hibya) – The Kremlin has praised Donald Trump’s latest national security strategy, describing it as largely consistent with Russian thinking and an encouraging shift in policy.
The remarks came after a White House document published on Friday criticized the EU and warned that Europe faces the risk of “civilizational erasure”, clearly signaling that the United States is willing to pursue better relations with Russia.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Sunday, “The adjustments we see align in many ways with our vision.” Peskov welcomed signals that the Trump administration is “in favor of dialogue and building good relations.” However, he cautioned that the so-called U.S. ‘deep state’ might attempt to sabotage Trump’s vision.
The statement comes as the White House’s efforts to finalize a peace agreement on Ukraine enter a critical phase. U.S. officials say they are in the final stage of negotiations, but there is little indication that either Ukraine or Russia is ready to sign the framework agreement prepared by Trump’s negotiating team.
