In a post on social media, Tajani stated that this result reflects the trust the international community places in Italy. He emphasized that his country will continue to fight all forms of discrimination, protect the rights of children and vulnerable groups, combat gender-based violence, defend freedom of expression and religion, and stand against the death penalty.

Tajani added: “At a time when universal principles of human dignity and justice are being tested, Italy will continue to act with courage and responsibility.” The minister also thanked the countries that supported Italy’s candidacy, as well as the Foreign Ministry and diplomatic networks for their contributions to the campaign.
