UNICEF: Too many children die of pneumonia every year
New York, November 12 (Hibya) – UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell stated that too many children lose their lives every year due to pneumonia.
In a statement marking World Pneumonia Day, Russell reminded that pneumonia is a preventable disease and called on decision-makers and partners to invest in essential health services and vaccines that protect children’s lives.
UNICEF emphasized that adequate access to healthcare and vaccinations can significantly reduce child mortality.
