According to a statement made to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP):

“Turkcell and its subsidiaries have signed a strategic partnership with Google and its companies (Google Cloud) to deliver Google Cloud services in Türkiye and to support institutions in adopting cloud technologies. Under this partnership, Turkcell will work with Google Cloud to provide the necessary infrastructure for a new Google Cloud region planned to become operational in Türkiye between 2028 and 2029 and will expand its data center network. This new region will consist of three or more zones.”

As Google Cloud’s strategic partner, Turkcell will further strengthen its position in cloud infrastructure and services while also acting as an authorized reseller of Google Cloud services. This partnership will help companies of all sectors and sizes across Türkiye accelerate their cloud migration processes and make the most of the advantages of cloud technologies. The new cloud region will offer local infrastructure, providing customers with greater control over where their data resides and helping them meet local data hosting requirements.

This new region aims to strengthen Türkiye’s digital ecosystem by offering high-performance, low-latency Google Cloud services. It will deliver advanced capabilities in data analytics, application modernization, cybersecurity, and digital business solutions, enabling organizations in various sectors to innovate, grow, and operate more efficiently. These services, which include access to advanced technologies, are designed to meet the growing demand for cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions.

This major step highlights Turkcell’s commitment to accelerating Türkiye’s digital transformation while reinforcing the country’s position as a regional innovation hub in digital and AI fields. According to its business plans, Turkcell anticipates that its data center capacity will more than double by the end of 2032, while data center and cloud revenues are expected to increase sixfold in USD terms. Turkcell projects to invest around USD 1 billion by the end of 2032 as part of this collaboration.”
